More Than a Sailing Trip. A Chance to Find the Way Forward.
For many combat veterans living with PTSD, the hardest battles begin after they come home. Ghostship Warriors exists to change that.
Based in Key West, Florida, Ghostship Warriors operates two custom steel sailing vessels that take up to 10 combat veterans on a seven-day expedition to Dry Tortugas National Park. This isn't a vacation or a retreat. It's an opportunity to disconnect from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with purpose, confidence, and one another.
For an entire week, veterans leave behind cell phones, emails, and social media as they sail nearly 70 miles across open water to one of the most remote national parks in the United States. Every person aboard becomes part of the crew, learning to hoist sails, navigate, anchor, and work together to accomplish something none of them could do alone.
Along the way, they wake beneath the walls of historic Fort Jefferson, snorkel crystal-clear reefs, explore a shipwreck using a hookah dive system, fish and spearfish for dinner, paddleboard secluded waters, visit deserted islands, and watch unforgettable sunsets from atop the fort or along pristine beaches.
The adventure is extraordinary. But it's what happens between the adventures that changes lives.
Meals are prepared together. Stories are shared. Trust is rebuilt. Confidence returns. Laughter comes easier. Veterans who boarded as strangers leave as a crew, knowing they have people they can count on long after they return home.
Every expedition is professionally photographed and filmed, ensuring each participant returns with more than memories. They leave with lasting reminders of what they accomplished, the friendships they forged, and the strength they rediscovered.

Capt Perry on Ghostship
Capt Perry has been living full time on Ghostship since 2017! It is a 54’ steel sailboat that was built in Ohio.
Ghostship arrived in Key West Feb of 2018 and this has been its base of operation since then having made trips to Mexico and Bahamas.
Perry has been working several different Capt jobs on snorkel boats, dolphin trips, fishing head boats, doing boat deliveries, etc. But for the last several years has been running trips on sailing catamarans taking families on day adventures all the way up to weeklong trips up out of the Fl Keys as well as out to the Tortugas
After being guilted into the first impromptu veterans trip (as he thought he had nothing to offer that would be of value) he seen how it did help and decided to run as many as he could and has pledged to keep running them.
Capt Steve Twolynne
Steve lives on Twolynne . He actually built boat in St Louis Mo and brought her all the way to Key West ! There is a published book on the building of this boat! “Steel Ambition”
Steve and Perry have been friends since meeting in Dog River Al as both were on the way down from the heartland.
Capt Steve being a Marine himself quickly volunteered Twolynne and Himself to be able to take more veterans on the trips and since doing so has been there for every trip!
Steve divides his time between Key West and Ky. He holds a 100 ton Masters license as well as can fix anything that breakers with bubblegum and a hammer

The best way to get on one of these adventures is through you local veterans organization. We take recommendations from veterans groups such as A Soldiers Heart, HeroBadges and Warriors, O3, Hero Hunt as well as others.
